Like I’ve said several times throughout this series of articles, the heart of your efforts to build an online business needs to be centered on relevant content and building quality back links to your pages. Lots of quality links…but, since Google’s latest Panda and Penguin updates have unleashed havoc on many websites, your links should now be heavily coming from social sharing sites and related niche websites – preferably in text links, with a variety of anchor texts.

Using the same keyword anchor text in more than about 20% of your incoming links is now very likely to get your site penalized or even de-indexed by Google. Google is seriously cracking down on spam links and spam content (although some of the pages that are now ranking at the top of their results pages don’t appear to be much better than what they’ve eliminated). Even sites that seemed perfectly spam free to most webmasters are finding their way out of the search listings. Google is on a rampage right now, and is clearly favoring large authority sites for both product and information searches alike.

I’m not going to delve too deeply into the subject of link building in this article since there are dozens of expert articles on the subject available from a Google search. One such article I highly recommend you read is an article found at Moz.com on Link-Building which will explain the subject in greater detail. But I do encourage you to learn as much as you can about article marketing, video marketing, email marketing and backlinking as possible.

Anyway, as always, I hope you’ve found this series of articles on making money online for newbies useful. However, my job would not be complete if I did not include a backlinking resource list for you get tons of Free information from. Just enter the following search query into Google and get lots of info to dig into: “social bookmarking & backlinking filetype:pdf”.

If you liked this article please say thanks by sharing it 🙂
